Almost at the end of the Lleyn Peninsula, this small village opens out onto the beach and Cardigan Bay. Here the few visitors that could make their way here enjoy a lazy day on the beach. Aberdaron's 12th-century church of St Hywyn was ministered for many years by one of the great Welsh poets of the 20th century (or any century), R S Thomas.

During the last war my father served in the Merchant Navy and saw Aberdaron from the sea, that was to be the beginning of many trips and a life-long love of the village. I started going to Aberdaron at about the age of six and have been going each year since then. My parents, now both sadly deceased, loved it as I do.
