My Boyhood Memories Of Aylestone

A Memory of Aylestone.

I lived in Aylestone ,for the first 24 years of my life ,going to Marriott Road School ,then on to Lansdowne Road ,I remember as a young boy ,playing on a vast building site ,which was The Eyres Monsell Estate ,walking through 1st ,2nd and 3rd woods up to the Army Barracks ,we played on the site ,but we respected authority ,and were far to frightened to wreck anything ,not that we wanted to .playing football on the enormous turfed area ,that is now the Ring Road ,was one of the main forms of enjoyment ,money was scarce ,but it was an enjoyable childhood ,All our yesterdays
