Ilchester Crescent

A Memory of Bedminster Down.

Living in Ilchester Crescent was just fantastic.
Lots to do and friends to play with. I remember the shops in particular the newsagent and me following my brother to deliver newspapers in 1965, mike from Presses the newsagent would get the papers ready. Methodist chapel from 1958 onwards to Christian Endeavour club.
Making dens on the dumps and then over the A38 into the downs to play. The black Bridge. St Oswalds youth club. The boys club.
The hop at St Oswalds.
Clark’s the grocers , stricklers the butchers, Moylands the grocers, Dyers the fruit shop. The coop club..
Such great memories. The fantastic park with old John who used to sit on the seat and watch ( creepy now)...
Garages in the park..
My name wax Judith Foreman, moving from Bristol in 1972 but a regular visitor to magnificent Bristol....
