Bilsborrow, The Vicarage c.1960

More about this scene
The vicarage in its spacious garden was built at about the same time as St Hilda's church, which was consecrated in 1927. Its peal of eight bells is well-known to campanologists. Money was left for the building of the stone church and tower in the will of Jane Salisbury, tragically killed on the railway in 1922. She was owner of Myerscough Hall. Bilsborrow is linked with the parishes of Myerscough and Barton, also lovely leafy areas.
