Blakeney only really began to become popular as a tourist and holiday destination from the mid 1920s. At that time a number of old buildings were cleared from the quayside and the Blakeney Hotel (seen spreading along the quay to the right of the photograph) was built for the sum of £31,000—a huge investment in its day.
