More about this scene

Standing on the fringes of the Norfolk marshes, Blakeney like Cley, once knew busier days. Its capacious natural harbour, protected from the sea by the long spit of sand, Blakeney Point, attracted coastal trading vessels until the early years of this century. The landscape offers birdwatchers an irresistible mixture of dunes, saltings, mud-flats and creeks.

A Selection of Memories from Blakeney

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Blakeney

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

This looks much like my Grand mother Phyllis Wright (1913-1995) Grandad did lots with boats, The Boy John being the boat to the right of the one she is sitting on.
