Memories Of A Great School
A Memory of Boldre.
I was a day pupil as a 7 year old in the Spring and Summer terms of 1953. I remember the headmaster, Mr. Arch. Mr. Randle and Mr. Griffin. There was a forth teacher, was that Mr. Peacock? I recall the Sunder march to the church in Boldre and the much freer ramble back after the service. Unfortunately my father changed jobs and I had to leave. I learnt more in 2 terms than I was to learn in the next 3 years in state schools. I often wonder what my life would have been had I continued at Rope Hill.
I left England in May 1967 for New Zealand where I have lived ever since. In 1978 I was able to buy a Dairy Farm. I retired in 2007 and now live in Kihikihi, Te Awamutu, North Island, New Zealand. Alan Locke
