Bridlington, Prince's Parade 1906

More about this scene
This view shows some of the well-laid-out flower-beds that Bridlington had a reputation for producing. A significant date in Bridlington's history was 22 February 1643, when Queen Henrietta Maria landed at Bridlington with much-needed arms and ammunition for King Charles. Bombarded by warships of the Parliamentary navy, the Queen took shelter until it was considered safe to move on to Boynton Hall.
