I currently live in the house (and have for the last 13 or so years) that she lived in here. It's now known as 1 Landboat Cottage, Cheriton Fitzpaine.
I visited Cheriton Fitzpaine some years ago looking for the house where the novelist Jean Rhys lived in the 1960's and where she wrote at least part of "Wide Sargasso Sea". But I couldn't be sure which house it was. Can anyone identify the exact house for me, if it still exists?
I grew up in Cheriton Fitzpaine, I lived at 1 Wordland Cross and went to the local primary school before going to the Shelley School in Crediton. I loved living in that village, I remember lots of friends from that time, Keith Webber, Ann Yeandle, Tim Carr, Ppaul Vosper, Ssheila Stenniford and Raymond Lee to name a few.
