Cholsey Influence

A Memory of Cholsey.

This is the bio on my Blog,Cholsey Wildlife.

I have always had a passion for wildlife and the environment; I have been birding now for quite a few years. I moved from Chelsea (London) to Cholsey (then Berkshire now Oxfordshire) when I was 9 years old.

My main influence was my old Cholsey school headmaster W.D. (Bill) Campbell. He fostered my interest in wildlife. I have travelled widely on a global scale (ex Royal Navy), in the 80,’s I got into twitching, and travelled a lot of the UK in search of rare birds (ex twitcher). I have been birding the Cholsey (and Oxfordshire) area since the early 1970’s and since moving back to Cholsey from Wallingford I have focused more on local birding and wildlife especially in Cholsey and Oxfordshire.

Have fond memories of growing up in Cholsey and am still in touch with many friends, Malc Cherrill, Dave Couling, all the Wyatt brothers, Chris Chapman etc.
