More about this scene

Cookley is a rather over-grown village overlooking the River Stour; since the 1700s, it has also overlooked the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, which links Stourport and Kidderminster with Wolverhampton and the Black Country to the north. Notice the canopies on the two prams; they were once a very common feature, but now we have plastic cocoons over pushchairs instead!

A Selection of Memories from Cookley

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Cookley

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I would be very grateful to hear from anyone who remembers William Staite Hopkins who lived in Cookley until he died in 1953. lizrp@blueyonder.co.uk
