Denbigh, The Castle 1888

I was born in Denbigh in 1939 in a house named Parc y Twll near the entrance to the Denbigh Hospital. We moved next door to St Davids which is at the entrance. My father worked at the Hospital and I spent my childhood roaming the grounds and the wonderful farm the hospital owned and ran nearby. I too went to Fron Goch and was taught by Miss Annie several years before you.. She was very memorable. My last name was Whitley and we lived in Bodfari at that time. We got the train to school.

My mother was born in Denbigh Infirmary in 1947. Her father was Kenneth TONG & her mother was called Ceridwen (known as Ceri). She had 4 sisters & 2 brothers. In the 1940s my grandparents were living at The Green in Denbigh. Does anybody know this area?? Also Ceri's mother Margaret lived in Ivy House in Henllan St in late 1950s, and her son William (Bill) lived in Henllan St.

I used to come on holiday annually to stay with my Nain and Taid in Ruthin, I have fond memories of the staff and family from the "Townsend "Stores; as the train left Denbigh station on the way to Ruthin all the family would be outside to gives us a wave, it was always a highlight of a long journey.
