More about this scene
Around the time this picture was taken both Embleton and Beadnell were becoming popular with tourists; Beadnell in particular was being developed for caravan holidays. One of the attractions at Embleton is its golf course, once only 9 holes but now the full 18. In the early years following the end of the Great War Embleton was one of the Northumberland courses where golfers could get a round on Sundays.
