Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Monday 5th January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

More about this scene

Freshfield is situated between Formby and Ainsdale on the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway route between Liverpool and Southport. In 1902 the L&Y board approved electrification of the line 630v DC; a partial electric service was to begin in March 1904, with a full service to be in place by the start of that year's holiday season. Freshfield station is still open, though it lost its goods traffic in 1968.

This picture shows clearly the row of small shops that greeted you as you left Freshfield Station on your walk to the village. Bowers (or was it Cross's) the bakers next to the railway track, baked their bread on the premises and my grandmother bought our bread there. There was also a confectioners and newsagents which sold very good ice cream and a small selection of toys - can't ...see more
