I Was Born In Frimley Green 1945

A Memory of Frimley Green.

My parents Elsie and Sidney Minton were evacuated from North London to Frimley Green during the war. My Father was a fire-fighter in London. My sister Gillian and I were both born in the ballroom of a large house converted to a hospital or Maternity home during the war.My brother David was about 3 or 4 at the time. I recently visited Frimley Green on vacation from California, where I live now.I was celebrating my 70th birthday and wanted to see the place where I was born. I was given some information by a kind lady at a large house "Frimhurst" I thought this may be where we were born but they have a gap in the history of the war years. My birth certificate has the address The White House, Frimley Green. Does anyone remember anything about a big white house? I'd be delighted for any snippet of information.

Hi Ruth, im not sure if you have found out where you were born as the post was a long time ago, but it sounds like you were born at frimley cadet training centre also known as the white house. It was a maternity hospital during the war so fits your description and also has a ballroom inside.
