A Grand Day Out, Glasgow Style.

A Memory of Garrowhill.

Those among us of a certian age who can remember the days of the Trams in Glasgow will bring back memories, this is 1952 -1956, my friend & I used to take the No 23 tram from Garrowhill up to the terminus in Airdrie, cost 3d ( in old money roughly 1 &1/2 Pence today) then pay the full child fare 6d to go to Renfrew, walk down to the Renfrew Ferry crossing on the River Clyde, watch the shipping whilst eating our packed lunch, wash down with Iron Bru or Barr's Ginger Beer, depending on your taste, then crossing the river ( as I remember free to foot passengers & taking the tram back home, as I remember No 15, again cost 6p a day out for 1 Shilling & 3d about 5p today. does this bring back any memories to anyone else ?, if so would love to hear from you.
