My Childhood In Elm.Street

A Memory of Gilfach Goch.

My aunt and uncle live still in Elm Street, Mr and Mrs Webb. Anyone know them ?
My grandad, now passed, used to live in Holly Street. My brother and I have many memories of Gilfach - taken there to see family for all our childhood years. Anyone know of Raymond Barrett ? He is my uncle.
My aunt and uncle still live in Elm Street. Jaqueline and Mike Webb. Please contact me if you know anyone I have mentioned. I remember the old coal tips. Both my grandads were miners. Grassed over now. I will be making a visit back one day, my its changed so much...were happy days tho. We live down south. But Gilfach always a special place in my brother and my hearts .

My name is David Jones and I lived in Llewellyn St, Gilfach Goch as a child in the late 1940s My close friend as a child was Sandra Webb who was a sister of your uncle Mike Webb. Mike was a great footballer and it was rumoured that he had trials with Tottenham Hotspurs Jacqueline was a teacher at Hendreforgan Infant School and I taught in the Junior department of the school.I knew Ray Barrett and I believe ha was a painter and decorator by trade.He married a girl called Ann Colenso and they had two children. Ann was a teacher but unfortunately the marriage ended in divorce.
