Gloucester, Westgate Street 1891

More about this scene
Only the distinctive three-stage Perpendicular tower of St Nicholas Church, in the centre of the picture, serves as a major landmark in this street - it has been radically changed during the past half-century by piecemeal development. More than twenty-five listed buildings of historical or architectural interest have been demolished since the end of the Second World War.
