Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Cock Bridge takes Whalley Road across the River Calder (now much cleaner than it used to be) and links Great Harwood and Whalley. This stone bridge is in an attractive spot, popular with walkers, as many good footpaths from Great Harwood, Whalley and Read converge here. Just above the bridge on the Great Harwood side is the Game Cock Inn.

Alfred Blake, Heights Farm Harwood
Yes, I live at Heights Farm Harwood in the Labourers Cottage. I remember Alfred's brother, Jim Blake and purchased the house from Jim's Son, Roger Blake in 2001. We now have a premium pet food business from here www.heightsfarmpetfoods.co.uk and I have a picture from around 1930's or possibly earlier we use on our labels with a farmer and labourer. The farmer I believe is Alfred Blake. There's lots of tales about him that I have learned over the years. Regards, Stephen Ward

Farming In Harwood
We lived at Bury Meadows Farm, Roading Brook Road, Harwood near Bolton Lancs, by the time I'd written that down everybody else had been waiting ages at Bradshaw School. My sister Janet and I had many happy years at Bradshaw School with our cousins, John and Margaret Dewhurst who lived at Springfield on Roading Brook Road. 13 Hardy Mill
My dad was away fighting in the war, so mum and I moved to live with my granny and grandad at 13 Hardy Mill Rd.  I remember from about 1945 I had a special friend called Desiree and we used to play across the road where there was a river, many times we got home with our feet wet and got a smack for it. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
