Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

A Morris Minor with L-plates stands outside the cottages. They were built in 1806 to re-house workers from the Shugborough estate and thereby ensure privacy for the Hall's residents. The pedestrian route to Shugborough still passes down the lane, beneath the railway bridge of 1848, over the canal and across Essex Bridge. The Post Office, established in 1908 in the house with Doric columns, still functions here.

The Bench

Hanging Over
I remember being hung over this bridge by my ankles. Not one of my better moments and I'm sure if the two lads that did it read this, they will know who they are without me having to mention their names! We had some happy times together, our gang.Those were the days.

Great Haywood
My name was Mackin when I lived in Great Haywood in the 197'0s. We lived in Elm Close for over 5years. When I began to look through the photographs in the Frith Collection and saw the one above, it brought back memories that the actual building shown was a Butchers. Summer Holidays
I was born in Brewery Yard, Great Haywood. After the war my mum moved to Notting Hill, London, so in the summer holidays my sister and I would stay at Nan & Grandads in the village. Mum {Eileen Bailey} played the piano in the Fox & Hounds, Stubbs's were the local butchers. I spent a few months at the local school, during the Notting Hill riots. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
