Holmcroft Street

A Memory of Greenock.

My father was born and raised on Holmscroft Street. He left in 1950. I have been and know that his segment of Holmscroft Street has been torn down.

Does anyone know if this school was anywhere near Holmscroft Street? Does it still exist?

Don't know if your still following this thread but here goes. Holmscroft St. was nearby, a street or two away. It was redeveloped in the 70's or 80's I think. So Holmscroft St. no longer exists as it was. I went this school around 1960 until a serious fire badly damaged it. There are two school's in the picture. The more distant building is the The Mount School. A secondary school.
I was a pupil at this wonderful Primary School from 1947 until 1954. Beautiful building. Happy times. Can anyone remember the name of the Headmaster during those years?
