More about this scene

A path leads from the tiny village across the fields to low cliffs above this quiet beach. The thin strata of the rocks form attractive patterns in the headland, but they are soft and readily eroded by the sea. Embedded within the layers are numerous fossils: ammonites and gryphaea, sometimes called 'devil's toenails', are commonly found.

A Selection of Memories from Holford

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Holford

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

This is my house where I was brought up since the age of 10. How things change over the years - it is no longer a post office, it changed to a cafe and now is a two-bed bungalow attched to the house behind.
