The memorial shelter and clock tower were erected to the memory of G W Brown by Mr Whymper in 1902. We cannot see the clock; it was made by J R Ingram of St Ives. The white house called The Green was an inn. Part of the original medieval building survives, while the large chimney stack was added later.
