I Attended St Mary's School Knockentiber From The Age Of 4 In 1948 Til The Age Of Twelve When I Sat The Exam Called 11plusthen I Went To High Sch
A Memory of Knockentiber.
I remember my days T St Mary's our teacher was a miss Elizabeth Shankland she also had taught my mother and all my Dorrans aunts and uncles
After high school I trained as a nurse at Ayshire Hospital in Irvine then Kilmarnock infirmary for general nursing I then volunteered to join the CIIR ( catholic instuite for international relations)
And sent several years in East Africa as a Vol nurse at Nysambia mission Hospital just outside Kampala there I met and married my Scottish husband we returned to the UK in 1969 but could not settle and longed to return to Africa which we did in 1970 and sent a long happy life in South Africa. I had two children A son and a daughter and I now live near my children and grandchildren in New Zealand having immigrated here in 1998 my husband died in Christchurch New Zealand in 1912 I now live with my Daughter and her husband in NZ my son and his wife live also in newZealand I have 3 grandchildren
