"Singing Kettle"
A Memory of Lloc.
Accompanying my Husband on business trips to U.K and Europe and being entertained
by associates, I decided that I would like to do the same in our home in Port Elizabeth,
South Africa. I got a"Cordon Bleu" in London and Paris over the years.
We lived in the most beautiful Tudor-Style house which was a land-mark and the home
for our 3 children - Alan, Hilary and Jonathan. I served on the Union of Jewish Women
and decided that if I could put my favorite recipes ( a little this and a little that) into a
book I would possibly be able to help those less fortunate. And so the Francis Frith look
-alike house and Kitchen went to work and "The Singing Kettle Recipe Book" was born!
Three editions from 1965/1968/1976 were very popular and sold over and over agiain.
To-day, looking at your marvellous picture of "our House" (almost) and the 35 = years
since the non-coffee table Book I am filled with nostalgia and gratitude; I have lived
a beautiful life.
Happy cooking to all. Bon Apetit!
