Family Connections

A Memory of Meonstoke.

My Grandfather and Grandmother, Pamplin, lived in Frys Lane Meonstoke in the 1920s. He was a footman or butler to Charles C McCrae who lived in Meonstoke House.

Does anybody have any memories of this household ? I am doing a family tree and would like to add more details and photographs if possible. My mother and uncle were born in Meonstoke.

Francis Frith has many photographs of Meonstoke, but not of the house, has anybody got anything I can see please?

Mr McCrae was apparently a "motor engineer" who died in 1922. He is also listed at living in Ravenshall, Chine Crescent Road, Bournemouth. My grandfather and mother must have moved with him because their address on death was Ravenshall Cottages, 2 Chine Cres. Road.

My mother and father were still living at the above address in 1948 when I was born (my mother was daughter of grandfather Alfred Charles Pamplin) and they moved to Kinson in the 50s.
