Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Newport has always been an important trading town, and at the height of its fortunes carried goods such as timber, malt, wheat and flour. During Victoria's reign all the railways of the Island met here. The poster on the right tells us that a single fare to Cowes cost 4 1/2d and 9d return.

Question About 1930s Isle Of Wight School
My nanny passed away two days ago and she went to Parkhurst School. I was wondering if there was anyone who knew the name of the prayer that school kids memorised at Parkhurst School and would recite in class. It would mean a lot to my family if we were able to recite this at her funeral, none of us can remember any of the words of the prayer. If anyone can assist in this please email me redhotrobot@gmail.com

My Granddad, Police Constable Jack Eames
Well, the story goes that there was a robbery from a jewellery shop in the town during the day, and in those days there were no mobile phones or walky talkies, only landline phones. Life In Newport
I lived in Newport with my Mom Gladys, Father Jock and sisters Tina, Trisha and Jacky. We lived in Prospect Road for many years. My fondest memories are of meeting the gang in The Town Square outside "Mary Lambs" wearing our "Teddy Suits" and showing off to the girls and people staring at us from the buses waiting for passengers. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
