When I Was A Lad

A Memory of Newport Pagnell.

The lad leaning on the wall was John Cook, whose father was a policeman in NP, the guy to the left in the dark suite is me and the lad sitting on the pillar (to the right) was David Ashworth son of Major Ashworth who lived in Silver Street.

Comments & Feedback

In the late 1950, I lived at 31 Silver Street and was friends with Norah Ashworth. David’s sister My dad Len Brazier was the Station Master at NP.
On Sundays we were sent to Sunday School and afterwards we would play on the steps mimicking the swans until they chased us. Another time a younger sister fell in and before going home we had to dry her clothes on the trees. Happy times
