Northfield, Church Road c.1900

My family, mum, dad and 2 brothers, moved to Northfield from Whitehaven in 1964. My dad was General Secretary of the Northfield YMCA. The "club" building was still under construction at the time with it's distictive Hyperbolic Parabaloid roof. Kay and I lived in Old Moat Drive for 35 years, married at St Lawrence Church our daughter christened there She went to St Lawrence school lots of good memories of the area, Paul Bennett

My memory of Northfield is hearing that my Aunt Alice lived there. She, my Uncle Jack, her husband and children John, Pat and Joyce, lived in Tedstone Road, Harbourn. I saw Joyce and Pat last in 1983 at my mum's funeral. I would love to hear from any of them. Their surname is Foreman. My uncle and his son, John, worked at Longbridge car factory. The stretch of road we see is called Bell Lane.  Bell Lane curves back to Bristol Rd. The big house partly seen in the distance is Bell House which has quite a history.To it's left goes Bell Holloway (still fairly unaltered) and to it's right Bell Hill where I was born in an old cottage in 1927.
