I have just seen your message about POLLOTTI HALL ORPHANAGE. I used to go there to see a 2 year old little boy, who now lives in Rugby, and we have stayed friends all these years. I have some slides still of those times. I was surprised to see that text but very interested. My name is Barbara 😀 (barbara@samborski.net)
Hi. I have just seen your comment whilst trying to find out what happened to Pallotti Hall. I helped out there on Saturdays whilst in the sixth form and then spent the summer holidays of 1972 working in the nursery school which was on site, before I started a teacher training course. So, I have some very limited memories which I could share.
Hi to all who know and remember PALLOTTI HALL. My name is Peter Connolly I was born in 1950 I have just found out that I was moved to PALLOTTI HALL on the 22nd of October 1951, I was moved from HOLLY HOUSE Nursery which I think was in Liverpool. I no nothing of PALLOTTI HALL or how long I spent there. Can anybody help as regards to were I can get records, if you can my e-mail is. p_connolly55@hot mail.com. Thank you.
I was actually a resident of Pollitti Hall in Macclesfield from 1958-1963 from 3mths old to 5yrs old. Then moved to another home as ages only went up to 5yrs old. I do remember quite a bit even though I was so young. There were German Nuns who used to skate on the frozen lake not too far from the home. We were warned never to go on the lake as Manny greeting would get you, that scared the life out of me.
I remember being transferred to Father Hudson homes aged 5 yrs old along with a boy whom I have tried to trace for years with no success.
I had good times and bad times at the home but worse was yet to come in Father Hudsons homes in Birmingham.
