A Memory of Portsmouth.

Does anyone remember a clothes shop called Snob in portsmouth and I think there was one in southampton too, back in the seventies I loved that shop but have never seen any pictures of it does anyone have one?
also there was a clothes shop in the old tricorn centre it was really trendy at that time and it had a hairdresser inside it too, sadly I cant remember the name,I live on the Isle of wight and frequently visited those shops.

In 1971, Snob was a boutique on Commercial Rd. Roughly near where HMV used to be. If you look in 'Kellys directory' at the library for 1971 (or other years) Portsmouth, it will tell you all the shops on Commercial rd etc.
I remember it well. In 1971 I began a course at the art college on Hyde Park Way, and used to go to the Snob shop regularly. There was a beautiful long navy blue coat with a white fur type collar and I recall standing with my friend in front of the mirror, wishing to buy it. All long ago. No photograph unfortunately.
The one in the Tricorn was called The Village.
I worked in The Village Saturdays and holidays, mid 70’s
We used to stage fashion shows out front on Saturday mornings.
I would love to see a photograph if anyone has one..
Remember Snob, but obviously bought all my clothes in The Village!
