More about this scene
A party, dressed in their finery, with the ladies in large flowery hats, are on an outing on a coach owned by the millionaire Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt. His fortunes stemmed from his family's involvement in the expansion of New York. Although his business was in banking and railways, his great love was coaching, and his coach travelled daily to and from Brighton.
