The library was donated by the town's other benefactor, Thomas Blake, in 1873 – it is located towards the bottom of Broad Street. He also had the Baptist church rebuilt in Broad Street.

I remember having spent a few years of my childhood as an evacuee in a place called lea. The address was 4 cross cottages eccels wall lea.
