More about this scene
On the right is Watts' hairdressing salon, and the Hoops inn. On the left is another hairdressing salon, Molly Murray, the ladies' hairdressers, who advertise the 'Macdonald system of waving' and 'water waving'. Next but one is Stead and Simpson's shoe shop and Dewhurst the butchers, then Cleale's garage with its Ford and AA signs. Next is C Spurge, drapery and haberdashery, and then the Library and the Corn Exchange.
