At Cheesewring, a mile or two from St Cleer, there are dozens of mysterious stone monuments on the moor. They include megalithic stone circles, standing stones and old Celtic carved crosses.
One of the most spectacular is North Cleave Gut, 120 yards deep and ten yards wide, with a 350ft waterfall at its head.

A few miles away from St Cleer's Well is the King Stone (actually two stones), which is also known as King Doniert's stone. The granite stones date from the 9th century.
This is St Cleer's Holy Well in the village named after him. The well is protected by the picturesque 15th-century baptistry erected over it.
Both stones stand beside a lane to the north of St Cleer.
