Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Moving south-east and still within Wonersh parish, we reach Shamley Green, in 1965 still a remote Surrey hamlet loosely built around its triangular green. Nowadays it is much smarter and more prosperous. L T Gamblin's village smithy with the cycles leaning against it has gone the way of most forges and is now a shop, Poppy's Delicatessen, while the post office is now the Beauty Gallery and has lost its telephone kiosk. Note the bubble car - a real period piece.

Shamley Green School
My father Fred, went to this school many years ago. He remembers the swimming pool that was at the far end of the playing field (now coverd by weeds and trees), the boys would swim in the summer months. Sadly there was a boy who died in the pool. The dinner hall was then the toilets that would freeze up in the winter, along with the pool! I also went to the school in the 1960s, I remember ringing ...see more

My Childhood Garded Part Iv
If I remember correctly, a white climbing rose grew up one side of the arch and a red on the other. The path continued straight through the archway, and led up the garden to the two wooden sheds at the top of the garden. To the right immediately after the archway, another path led behind the rose-covered trellis, which then turned left and led up alongside a hedge, which divided my parents' property ...see more

My Childhood Garden Part V
Beside the strawberry bed grew a large cooking apple tree that produced enormous green apples. We had a variety of both eating and cooking apple trees in the garden, the fruit from which was harvested and then stored in the autumn. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
