More about this scene
Two new plant houses were built in 1900, and in 1903 over £2000 was spent on refurbishing the conservatories, terraces and shed. The three large conservatories designed by B B Taylor were seriously damaged during the Second World War but were eventually restored to their former glory. In 1951 the Gardens were leased to the corporation for a nominal amount.
