Victor Towler "Empire"

A Memory of Tolworth.

I worked at Victor Towlers for ten years and the photo Tolworth Broadway 1965 with the square clock at 2;30 is the wrong date. I suggest it is probably 1960 as per the others. The shop on the left was part of Victor Towlers by 1962 when I started there.

Many thanks for this information - it has been passed on to our archivist and the image date will be altered. Ed.

Born in New Malden 1945, went to Tolworth boys school till 1960. Have great memories of the Broadway and the cinema that was there. Spent many hours in the bowling alley and the pub which has now been demolished. Remember the cockle and winkle van that parked in the pub car park. Any Tolworth old boys out there?
In 1966 Victor Towlers was a toy shop and the most prestigious in the Tolworth area. The shop underneath Tolworth Towers and on the corner, at the time was Fine Fare.
