Great Grandma's Birthplace

A Memory of Trenarren.

My dad's Grandma, Louisa Batchelor, was born at Trenarren in one of the block of three cottages to the left of the picture, now demolished. Her mother's maiden name was Rowse (no relation to AL). They moved to Fowey about 1870 where she met a sea captain who came with coal and returned with china clay. In 1877 he carried her off to Hull, Yorkshire, where they were married.

Hi Diane, So pleased you get your message. I'm not too good at understanding how these things work :( I haven't go very far on the Batchelor side, you obviously have done a lot of research. It's some time now since I drew a line under my searches so I will have to do some more now. Do keep in touch.
Hi Dianne, thank you for your last message, but I can't find it now. I struggled last night to answer but couldn't 'make it happen' I don't know if it's my laptop that's at fault or just me - being such a technophobe! Anyway, I only got as far as Thomas Augustus Bachelor's father George and his grandfather Jeremiah, though not traced his birth so I would love to know further back.
