More about this scene
Today the River Adur's main channel passes under Beeding Bridge, from which this photograph was taken. Before the 17th century, the river was divided into two large channels south of Beeding; the eastern channel flowed under the old wooden bridge at Beeding, while the western channel flowed under Great Stone Bridge at Bramber.
