A Memory of Uxbridge.

I am researching an old Norton Dominator 99 motorbike which was purchased by a Vilnis Adamsons of 61 Knighton Way Lane, New Denham, Uxbridge from a dealer called Miles of Uxbridge.

The bike was purchased on 13th May 1958.

I would very much appreciate any information about the Adamsons family or Miles of Uxbridge - or what became of them.

My objective is to build some history of the motorcycle which I now own and have restored to showroom condition.

Miles Motors used to be on the High Street. When Uxbridge High Street was 'modernized' in the late 60s, Miles Motors moved to a new building on Belmont Road. The car and motorcycle showrooms were on Belmont Rad, with the motorcycle workshop just behind. The car workshop being on Lancaster Road. As far as memory serves, Joe Miles retired somewhere around the mid-70s, and the shop closed entirely.
