I lived at The Beechings, Holton (1959-65) and went to Mrs Gerard's class at Wheatley Primary School which was next to the old canteen -the main school was just up the hill by the church. Mr Evans was headteacher-a short, Welshman. My brother's Patrick and Michael also attended before we all went to Magdalen College School in Oxford. Got married in this church in 1960 just lost my husband after almost 58 years
My family came from the U.S. We lived at 4-A Simons Close for a year while my dad was on a fellowship at Oxford. Mr. Stimpson was my teacher. Nita Radcliff was my best friend. I had a crush on Nicholas Jefferson. some other friends... Nigel, Gillian Clapton... The fish-n-chips were fantastic we used to eat it in the "park with the pyramid". I went out with a young lady from here back in the 1960s. I'm still ashamed to say that I treated her very badly. So, Pru, if you ever see this, I'm really sorry.
