More about this scene

This shows the town, the railway and the headland. The first station had been provided only 20 years before. It soon became a destination for those who wanted to enjoy a spot which seems to make the mouth of Belfast Lough its own. County Down embraces the scene from the Copeland Islands until the Hollywood Hills merge with White Head. The far view is completed with the full run of the Rhinns of Galloway. This was the very place to see the many big sailing vessels which still went to and fro.

My childhood memories go to Ballyclare, Blackhead, Carrickfergus and last but not least, dear Whitehead. My late mother came from Whitehead, and as children, my sister and I often had wonderful holidays with relations, exploring the town and surroundings, especially walking to Blackhead up and around back to Whitehead..one time, many years later, my cousin who lived in Whitehead, said, will you take her for a walk, walk her ...see more

However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
