Lacton Hall

A Memory of Willesborough.

I used to live in Lacton Hall as a boy back in the days, early 1970's. I was a resident of the Caldecott Community of which Lacton Hall was an annex. I remember creasoting the fences in this picture for 3 old pence per fence which was awesome pocket money at the time..

I remember the long walk back from the North Boys to Lacton Hall, slipping and sliding on the snowy roads and looking forward to the hot chocolate and access to the biscuit jar when i finally got back to the hall. I also have fond memories of the main building a few miles up the A20 where i spent the best years of my early life in the nursery unit. Surrounded by acres of woodland, rabbit warrens and a spectacular deer park, all of which looked so much prettier in the snowy winters. all of my life's experiences seem to be constantly matched against the beauty of Caldicott and i will never forget just how lucky i was to be a part of something so positive and so beautiful, thank you Lord Braybourne and thank you Ashford, I carry you with me always.
