Memories of Winchester

The boy in the photograph is my grandfather, Herbert Ward, who was born in Winchester in 1911.

May 2008, and the city of Winchester hosted a festival of music and dance, with the streets closed to traffic and thronged with entertainers, market stalls and happy crowds. This was a pub in Winchester near the train station. I used to go there around 1966 to 1972 ish. Wondering if anyone else remembers the place. I was at sea and spent many hours there whilst on leave. Philip duncombe.
