Yorktown Camberley

A Memory of York Town.

i went to work at s-n stationery in must been 1974-5 further down from Yorktown was the industrial estate worked in Riviln factory -Arthur and Freds factory we did clothes for early marks and spencer
then worked for factory called electro Acostic industries we made speakers . we backed on to dirt track which now is Black-water valley road. in those days we used to paddle our feet in cool water walking across waste ground was not trouble . the company accepted offer with people from distant land who could make us fortune? we lost amount of employees possible 500 figure or more and those like me less 10 employees we managed to stay on and looked after the company grounds and was paid by job exchange for short while our manager kept in touch we meet up us employees at duke of York such lovely bright bar fresh and clean.finally the day came the company was at lost. in all of this these people had kept our storeman on he was only one left from the company to start with new it was called Gabarphone Transducers . it became for short while training establishment for boys. the company did not last and was demolished to the ground. now stands a work garage.
