Whitby, Royal Crescent 1923

More about this scene
Here we see the first half of George Hudson's dream of outdoing Bath. The house where Bram Stoker stayed in 1890 is in the centre behind the lamppost. It was there that he started to write his most famous book, 'Dracula', setting much of it in Whitby. Alas! Before the crescent could be completed Hudson's fame and his money ran out. Today we have to be content with only half of his original ambitious design.
