Yardley Gobion, Moorend Road c.1965

More about this scene
The village expanded after World War II and this view along Moorend Road is an interesting example. Frith's photographer has focussed on the north side of the street with its interesting variety of stone cottages, while opposite, out of view, are modern 1960s houses which clearly did not grab his attention. The corrugated iron roofed house in the middle distance now has its thatch reinstated, while the shop in the distance is now a house.
