Memories of Addlestone


My family lived in Collingbourne, High St, Addlestone and my youngest sister, Janet was b orn there, in 1943. Michael, Jean & Charles (sadly all deceased) myself, Kathleen, Ann & Janet lived there until 1952. Does anyone remember us or have any history of the house?

I lived in Bois Hall Road from 1941-1959,when I left Addlestone to work in London. I have very fond memories of growing up in Addlestone, although I hated school,with the exception of Oaklands, I think it was called, which was wonderfull, making camps and dens in the grounds. I have many memories of Addlestone having lived there from 1940 to 1964. My family lived in Bourneside Road, at the far end was Coxes Lock Mill and the mill pond. I was born at 53 Prairie Road in 1964, my earliest memory is going to school in Chapel Park Infants School, Chapel Avenue, then we up to infants school in School Lane and then over the road to the juniors which I think used to be the boys school, I think at the time the new middle school was being built, (...Read full memory)
