More about this scene
Crown Close is pictured less than 20 years after the erection of these new public buildings. From left to right, they are the Mechanics' Institute and Museum, the Cottage Hospital and the Assembly Rooms. The hospital was named the Inwood Cottage Hospital after Daniel Inwood of Binsted, who left £1500 on condition that this name was adopted.
